Apostolos E. Papalois, PhD, KGSJ
(Bd: July 22nd, 1968). High School, Varvakeion Model School. Mr Papalois was graduated from the Department of Biology, University of Athens in 1991 and he has a PhD degree in biology – biochemistry from the University of Athens in close collaboration with the University of Cambridge, Department of Surgery. His personal training abroad from 1991, contains University of Minnesota, University of Cambridge, University of Boston, University of C. Los Angeles, University of Texas and also special training courses (Transplantation, L.a.s. Courses, Leadership – Harvard). In 1996 was appointed Director of the Experimental – Research Center ELPEN. Teaching staff in the University of Athens, Greece (in pre – and post – graduate level) as well as in other Hellenic Universities (Patras and Alexandroupolis) Schools of Medicine, & Nursing. Visiting Professor (University of Ioannina, Greece, Timisoara, Romania San Antonio, Texas, 2011 and Harvard University Medical School, 2014). More than 240 publications in international peer review journals as well as participation in international and panhellenic scientific congresses. Also many training courses (more than 700 national and international) were organized in his lab. His work has been awarded with more than 150 prizes in national and international congresses as well as from scientific associations. Knighthood of Saint John of Jerusalem Order(2010). Also under his supervision, many PhD’s and Master degree thesis were elaborated in E.R.C. ELpen laboratories in accordance with the European legislation for experimentation. Member of national and international Scientific Societies (Academy of Surgical Research, ICLAS, FELASA, Experimental Biology and Medicine, European Society for Transplantation, Cell Transplant Society, Academy of Management and others).
